It gives me great pleasure to display the work that I have done with local publications and companies based here in Kenya as well as with media houses across the world in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and South Africa. The scope of the work that I have done with these companies and media houses is enormous and falls in different editorial categories ranging from human interest, investigative features, general news items, environmental and wildlife conservation issues, travel and tourism, management, manufacturing, aviation, health, entertainment, business and finance, sports, telecommunications, trade and commerce et al. No pain, no gainWorking with all these different editors at various levels of the editorial production process has greatly enriched my skills set and provided me the ammunition to continue in this tough world. I have taken the criticism and the compliments in my stride knowing that I had to work better than I did last time. It is tough business to be a writer, but it is the passion that keeps the tough going. The work that goes on behind the scenes of the editorial production are every writer's nightmare and bread basket at the same time. The pace is relentless as time seems to fly, especially when working on a tight deadline on a shoestring budget. But it is the people that we meet in the quest of telling the stories that greatly enrich our professional and personal lives. In my travels, I have met people of all walks of life, many of whom have in one way or the other made an impact in my professional and personal life. I have lived through their experiences, wined and dined with influential business and government executives, slept out in the cold with the poor and homeless, cried with the oppressed in the society and laughed with athletics champions. |
